Duvet cover Ottilia®
When I designed the Ottilia®-duvet cover, I got my inspiration from the old-fashioned top sheets people used to make their beds with. They were so lovely, with the fine linen in contrast to the often colourful quilt or comforter. I wanted to create a duvet cover that is practical, the way we want it today, but still beautiful. It has a lace insert and a flap folded-over on top, and you can even get it with a hand-embroidered monogram. At the bottom of the case there is an opening which closes with ties. There are also hand-sized openings at the top in both corners so you can reach in and pull up the duvet inside. The white part with the lace insert is made with 100% Oxford cotton from Brazil. For the top, you can choose between solid-coloured cotton or striped 50% linen/50% cotton. The solid colours are strong and show off the lace in contrast. With the striped cotton/linen blend the effect is softer, more "country" style. It all depends on what your taste is!
And finally, so the pillowcase is as old-fashioned and beautiful as the duvet cover, it is also sown with a lace insert, a small border and ties. But, if you prefer, you can choose the standard pillowcase.

Monograms
If you would like to order hand-embroidered monograms, I use an alphabet I found in a sampler book at the Textile Archive in Sollefteå, Sweden:

Choose white on white embroidery or a colour that goes with the fabric you choose for the top.
Washing instructions
The sheets should be washed in water at a temperature of 60° Celsius. At lower temperatures there is a risk for fading. At 60° Celsius the colour is guaranteed. Get the best result by ironing or mangling. I like to iron them, and I start with the lace which I spray and stretch a bit beforehand. Using a mangle is not one of my strong points, but those who do say that it also works well. And among my customers are families with small children who don't have time to iron or mangle, and that's fine, too. "The sheets flatten themselves after a day or two", they say.
